Suggested Troop placement:
The suggested placement above is for reference only.
Lemurs (GM) – Green Monkeys : Students will learn about the concepts of addition and subtraction, counting forward or backward to add or subtract, number sentences and operation signs, relating the concept of number to both groups of objects and numerals, shapes, patterns, and symmetry.
Lemurs (WTTJ) – Welcome to the Jungle: Welcome to the Jungle covers several math concepts, including, addition, subtraction, the relationship between addition and subtraction, time, shapes, and money.
Chimpanzees (LMNH) – Look Ma No Hands: Look Ma No Hands begins with 2 lessons on the complements of 10 and a lesson on adding and subtracting multiples of 10 from a 2 or 3 digit number. The class then moves into addition and subtraction with no regrouping, and, finally, addition with regrouping.
Chimpanzees (LMNH 2) – Look Ma No Hands 2: Students will build competence in addition and subtraction regrouping, focusing especially on strategies for subtraction regrouping.
Orangutans (MM 1) – Multiplying Monkeys 1: This introduction to multiplication will explore strategies and build competence in multiplying the 0 through 6 tables, as well as strengthen students' understanding of the multiplication concept.
Orangutans (MM 2) – Multiplying Monkeys 2: MM2 will focus on strategies for solving multiplication facts in the 6 through 12 times tables. This class includes an introduction to division, Magic of 9 and basic Magic of 11.
Baboons (MDM 1) – Multiplying and Dividing Monkeys 1: Students will learn double digit multiplication and how to solve division problems with remainders.
Baboons (MDM 2) – Multiplying and Dividing Monkeys 2: Students will strengthen their multi-digit multiplication and long division skills, as well as increase understanding of fractions.
Gorillas (BS) – Banana Split: Students will practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions and mixed numbers and examine the relationship between fractions, decimals, and percents.

Lemur Troop
Our first group of Math Monkeys will be challenged to build their mathematical literacy using mental workouts designed to improve concentration and begin developing the logical thinking necessary for advanced mathematics.
Chimpanzee Troop
These growing Math Monkeys will be challenged to think mathematically and build logical and critical thinking skills using a carefully designed series of games and mental exercises. Children will become efficient in the early math skills needed to advance.
Orangutan Troop
This group of intermediate Math Monkeys will build on their critical thinking and mental agility through the uniquely designed Math Monkey games and activities. Children will focus on mental techniques for speed and accuracy, as well as expand on the early math skills needed for advanced mathematics.
Baboon Troop
The building blocks for more advanced math are piling up as Math Monkeys in this group begin to explore higher-order thinking in concert with their math instruction. Children will learn techniques for extending their basic skills including mental techniques for speed and accuracy among other needed math skills.
Gorilla Troop
The experienced Math Monkeys in this group will continue to experience the hands-on/minds-on activity based learning found at Math Monkey. Through both inquiry and modeling children will get to experiment with more advanced math concepts while continuing to hone the basic skills needed to succeed in advanced mathematics.
